5/07 Friday 6PM-8PM
Hosted by Arcana, Curated by Clare Eva
Join us on Thursday, May 7 from 6 to 8 PM for an Artist Q&A in conjunction with Liquid Lines, a conversation with featured artists Kyle Austin Dunn, Rebecca Kaufman, and Mario. This one hour discussion offers a chance to step inside the thinking and process behind a show shaped by movement, perception, and abstraction.
In Liquid Lines, grids form, dissolve, and reappear, bending into organic shapes that seem to shift as you move through the space. There is a tension between discipline and intuition throughout the exhibition, where systems are constructed only to be stretched, disrupted, and transformed.
Kyle Austin Dunn’s work was an early spark for this exhibition, setting a tone for what the show could become. His compositions feel like a matrix in motion, charged and circulating. Rebecca Kaufman’s work moves through repetition and process, where subtle disruptions emerge like glitches within a system. Mario, a self taught artist from Oakland, brings a prolific and deeply human energy that grounds the exhibition in something immediate and alive.
The conversation will explore process, material, improvisation, and the evolving visual languages each artist has developed through their practices. It is a chance to hear directly from three remarkable artists about how these works come into being and what abstraction can hold.
We hope you’ll join us for an evening of conversation, insight, and a deeper encounter with the exhibition.
